Philosophy of Counseling

Melody believes that every individual has a unique purpose and meaning in life, even in the midst of life’s challenges and difficulties. As a counselor, she feels honored to walk alongside her clients on their journey of self-discovery and help them find their true calling in life.

Each person has their own set of experiences, thoughts, feelings, and needs. She strives to create a warm, inviting, and client-centered environment where her clients feel comfortable, heard, and valued.

Counseling is a collaborative process where both the counselor and the client work together to achieve positive change. She takes the time to understand her clients’ unique perspectives, experiences, and needs, to listen actively and provide feedback that is tailored to each client’s specific goals and needs.

Melody's counseling is based on individualized care, collaboration, and creating a safe and non-judgmental space for her clients to explore their challenges and work towards positive change.

Biography

Melody is a Certified Personality Disorder Treatment Provider and has received specialized training in the advanced diagnosis, treatment, and management of personality disorders, particularly cluster B. She is also fully certified in DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy) and has obtained Level II Accreditation in DBT from The Association of Psychological Therapies.

Other focus areas include grief/loss (particularly child loss), depression, and anxiety.

When not caring for her clients, she enjoys spending time with her family and Russian Blue cats. She loves hanging out with friends, working on puzzles, or painting.

Experience

Melody is the owner and founder of Counseling Cove PLLC, where she provides counseling services as an LPC Associate (supervised by Michael Bradford LPC-S) at our Texas location. Additionally, she is a PCLC Candidate in our Montana location, an LMHC Associate at our Washington location, and an LPC at our newest Idaho location.

Before starting her own practice, she served as the director of a faith-based homeless shelter and worked as a case manager for shelter residents. In these roles, she helped residents work towards self-sufficiency and held them accountable for their progress.
