Philosophy of Counseling

Melody believes everyone has their own set of experiences, thoughts, and feelings (and maybe a few quirks); She strives to craft a cozy, client-centered space where folks feel as snug as a bug in a rug—heard, valued, and ready for some serious self-love.

Counseling is a tag-team effort. Melody tries to be all ears, actively listening and dishing out tailored feedback. What is the formula for great counseling?  Individualized care, collaboration, and a non-judgemental space. Are you ready to join her in the quest for positive change? Melody can help you achieve this.

Melody is a certified Personality Disorder Treatment Provider boasting specialized training in advanced diagnosis, treatment, and management of personality disorders. Oh, and did we mention her Level II Accreditation in DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy)? She's got it covered!

She's also a certified Enneagram Informed Mental Health Professional, meaning your time together is not just about talk but a focused and effective journey tailored just for you. Melody strives to show warmth, understanding, and to create a therapeutic space that feels like a cozy chat.

In her downtime, you'll catch her diving into the world of fiction. She is currently cooking up a murder mystery comedy about mannequins! When she's not writing, she enjoys hanging with family or friends, cozying up with her Russian Blue cats, tackling puzzles, and adding a splash of color to life through her paintings.

Melody is the owner and founder of Counseling Cove PLLC. She is currently licensed in five different states to practice counseling (Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Texas, and Washington).

Before starting her own practice, she served as the director of a faith-based homeless shelter and worked as a case manager for shelter residents. In these roles, she helped residents work towards self-sufficiency and held them accountable for their progress. She has previously worked in various roles of serving other individuals through teaching, working with special needs adults, and home health.
