Biography

Jennifer holds a Masters of Social Work from Texas A & M University and brings a diverse background in Psychology and Social Work to her role at The Counseling Cove.

In her practice, Jennifer incorporates a combination of evidence-based therapies including CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy), and an integrative approach. She is also trained in administering EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy. Jennifer’s approach centers around meeting clients where they are and utilizing methods that are best suited to help them achieve their goals.

Jennifer’s passion lies in working with individuals who are facing PTSD, including Complex-PTSD, as well as those dealing with trauma, grief, and life adjustment issues. Additionally, she offers faith-based/Christian counseling upon request.

Outside of her work with clients, Jennifer finds joy in spending quality time with friends and family, engaging in card games, exploring interior decorating, indulging in swing dancing, taking nature walks, enjoying waterfalls, embracing opportunities for learning, and facilitating discussion groups.

Experience

In addition to being a valued member of the team at Counseling Cove PLLC, Jennifer currently works at an inpatient facility. There she leads groups and individual sessions

Previously, she was the director of a faith-based homeless shelter and has worked in various administrative and managerial roles.
